There are 3 advantages of under pressure.
1. It helps you save time.
According to Parkinson’s Law, “work expands to occupy the time available for completion.” It’s extremely likely that if the lid is off and you have all day to do anything, you’ll take all day to do it. If the pressure is on and you only have thirty minutes, you might be able to finish it ahead of schedule.
2. It helps us concentrate.
It forces us to focus on the one thing that needs to be done at any given time. It forces us to put down our phones and focus on the task at hand. It also helps us get it done well because of our focused attention. However, there are situations when strong concentration really aids in the completion of a task.
3. It keeps our attention.
If you have months to complete a project, you will most likely begin to detest it within three days. We’ve all experienced those moments when we just want it to be over with! Your energy will be high, and you will really do more if you have a very concentrated day to do it. That isn’t to say that every project can be done in a single day. When working on a long-term project, it’s helpful to set benchmarks for what you’ll accomplish in a certain amount of time. This gives you a sense of accomplishment while you work toward a long-term goal and reduces boredom.
My friends warned me that if the pressure in the pan rises too high and there is no moisture in the pan, the pressure cooker may explode. This is one another reason why I avoid culinary activities.
